Domestic Violence - Cut it Out

Attorney General invites Ohio citizens to join with him to help eliminate domestic violence in our state.

Information

Domestic violence is an escalating pattern of abuse where one partner in an intimate relationship controls the other through force, intimidation, or the threat of violence. Abuse comes in many forms and affects many people regardless of status.

The Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation section has published a comprehensive statewide report which provides specific details about the relationships of the parties involved in domestic disputes. Agencies throughout the state will be able to use this information to focus resources and develop effective solutions to fight the problem.

CUT IT OUT

CUT IT OUT, Salons Against Domestic Abuse is a national program that trains salon professionals to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence and to inform their clients of available state and local resources. In March and October 2004, Attorney General's Office offered training to stylists from the Columbus and Cleveland areas. Joining with the Attorney General’s Crime Victims’ Services Section in promoting CUT IT OUT are the Ohio Board of Cosmetology, the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, ACTION Ohio, the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence, and Charles Penzone Salons.
