D.A.R.E. Program

The Attorney General's Office serves as the state agency responsible for coordinating the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program for local police agencies in Ohio. D.A.R.E. is a nationally recognized anti-drug and violence program which features specially trained police officers who work with their local schools to help students learn to make the correct choices and acquire the necessary skills to avoid using drugs.
The Program Development Section of the Office processes D.A.R.E. funding applications from participating agencies and in conjunction with the Public Affairs representatives in the regional offices, distributes D.A.R.E. materials for use in schools.
