Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway

Attorney General's office has made great advances to make sharing information among Ohio law enforcement agencies easier by creating OHLEG, the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway, an electronic criminal justice information network.

OHLEG is a secure, Web-based platform that provides law enforcement with a variety of investigative tools and training applications to help solve and prevent crimes. Since its launch in 2003, OHLEG has rapidly expanded and hundreds of Ohio law enforcement agencies have signed on to take advantage of its many crime fighting features.

The Gateway currently provides access to nine law enforcement databases and tools, and includes a cross-database search engine and proprietary records management system for agencies that cannot afford to purchase a commercial record keeping system. For additional information about the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway, contact Director Steven Raubenolt at (614) 466-4320, or visit the OHLEG web site at www.ohleg.org.

OHLEG will continue to expand to meet the needs of Ohio law-enforcement agencies. These components are already online or will be added soon:

  • OHLEG Search Engine - Provides law enforcement with a useful, yet simple, investigative tool. OHLEG-SE is capable of securely querying numerous data sources from a single interface and displaying results in a consistent manner.
  • OHLEG Records Management System - Offers law enforcement the availability of a customized Records Management System. Additionally, it allows an agency to export data to the Ohio Local Law Enforcement Information Sharing Network (OLLEISN) for information sharing purposes.
  • Ohio Local Law Enforcement Information Sharing Network - OLLEISN is an information sharing system enabling all local law enforcement agencies in Ohio to share Records Management System (RMS) information.
  • eSORN - Ohio's Sex Offender Registration and Notification database
  • FinCrime - A partnership between the Attorney General’s Office and Ohio’s financial institutions that tracks financial crimes and trends in a searchable database
  • Concealed Carry - Important information for county sheriffs regarding the implementation and maintenance of Ohio’s law
  • RxPATROL® - A searchable database of prescription-related crimes. Authorized
investigators can search the database to identify trends or spot clues that could possibly link in different jurisdictions
  • Laboratory Online - County prosecutors can access the status of all evidence submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, view all approved laboratory reports for 2004, 2005 and 2006 and provide specific instructions to the laboratory for cases involving DNA requests.
  • Convicted Offender DNA - This application allows the user to search for individuals to determine if a DNA sample has been collected pursuant to ORC 2901.07 or 2152.74.
  • eOPOTA - An online training program for law-enforcement officials
  • Ohio Missing Children Clearinghouse - A database of information about children reported missing in Ohio
  • Identity Theft Verification Passport - A database that will help law-enforcement identify honest victims of identity theft who may be wanted for crimes they didn't commit
