Consumer Complaints
We have three avenues for filing a consumer complaint with the Attorney General’s Office.

We ask that you read this section before you file your complaint. If you file a complaint with our office, please understand the following:
You need to have attempted to contact the business to resolve your issue and if the business will not resolve a problem directly, consumers can file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General. The complaint should explain in detail what the problem is, what you have done, and the business involved. This can be done with mailed copies or electronic documentation. NO ORIGINALS.
Particularly it should:
- Identify the business, Any contact information such as name, address, phone number or email address.
- Describe the problem as thoroughly as you can about the problem with the product or service you have purchased.
- Include photocopies. Always include photocopies or electronic files of documents relevant to your complaint.
Do not send originals. Only send copies. Any information sent to our office are scanned and destroyed. Once you have filed a complaint if additional information is needed your specialist will contact you in 3-5 days. An email address, phone and fax number is provided with our first contact to you.
By not following these instructions, you can delay our response to your complaint.
Please note;
- Our web site has a 60-minute time out. All data is lost if not submitted in that period.
- Any information that is sent to our office can be considered public and may be posted for public request.
- In order to mediate the complaint the information is shared with the supplier or the business involved.
Our operators can be reached at 877-244-6446 and will answer pre purchase questions or further questions regarding your complaint. They can also assist with other Attorney General Services. The hours of operation are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
