What is WebCheck®?
An innovative program developed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) is reducing the chances that persons convicted of sex crimes, certain misdemeanors and felonies can have access to our children or other vulnerable citizens of Ohio.
How do I Complete a Background Check?
Background checks can be completed at any of the locations listed in the WebCheck® Community Listing. Locate one that is in your area and contact them accordingly.

LiveScan
Livescan is an electronic fingerprint submission system designed for law enforcement agencies to electronically submit criminal arrest transactions to the AG’s BCI&I section. Livescan transactions are submitted securely across the LEADS network. Agencies who wish to purchase a Livescan system for criminal arrest transactions must select a system certified by BCI&I (see list below). Civilian applicant transactions are not accepted from a Livescan system, only criminal arrests.
